The Amesbury lantern parade is now in its 9th year, with each year getting bigger and better. This year is looking to prove to be no different. Details have been released by Amesbury Museum and Heritage Trust who say, on their facebook page,
We are delighted to share the details of this year’s (9th) Stonehenge Amesbury Blick Mead lantern procession. We will collect the last embers of light at Stonehenge on Mid-Winters Eve (21st December) with the Solstice lantern with this years Solstice Fairy and bring the light to Blick Mead. Participants will gather as dusk falls in the Central car park and be led at 5pm to the warm springs via Amesbury Abbey where the Cornelius Reid Family will provide a welcome stop with mince pies, mulled wine, chocolates and soft drinks.
Please note – we must have names of participants taking part, everyone must wear appropriate clothing, appreciate that there are risks of trips on uneven ground and must not use naked flames or bright torches.
Lanterns are available and you can sign up at the Amesbury Filling Station, Kraft Crazy and A Date With Thyme.
Please register before 14th December.
This event is always full of magic and good cheer, its a lovely event to take kids to, one that they will talk about for Christmas’s to come.
Dont miss out, and get registered and ordering your lanterns. See you there!
